Have you ever wondered what you’d look like with grey hair?

Paz, who is 30-something and pre-mature grey, stopped colouring her hair black and let the grey grow in.

Disclaimer: I don’t endorse revealing a full head of grey –I love what colour does for appearances– but if a client chooses to do this, I’ll respect her decision.

The transition took 8 months. When she reached her goal, I accented her fringe with a block of dark colour just for fun.

Prevention Magazine polled 1,468 people: 71% thought women with grey hair can be sexy.

Are you thinking about doing this? The grow-out stages are awkward.

The stark root line you see in photo 2 is hidden in photo 3 by strategically placed colour and a layered haircut.

.

She added colour with make-up and accessories: She found that the natural tone of grey hair washed out her complexion so she went to NARS in Holt Renfrew for makeup advice. She’s wearing NARS Orgasm blush and a Revlon Lipgloss called Fushia Fever similar to NARS Funny Face creme version.

Paz: “If I’m wearing something bright I wear nude makeup with lots with shine on cheeks and if I’m wearing subdued clothing, I wear rich bold makeup.”

Hairbands add pops of dramatic colour to grey hair  –they’re like what lipstick does for the face–  and on Paz’s hairstyle they make it look like she’s from The Artist film era. You can buy these hairbands at Pome for 2 for $12. (They don’t pinch or cause headaches.)

Do you still want to do it? Then please visit the salon every 6 weeks for maintenance during the grow-out phases.  A short, layered haircut speeds up the process and lowlights soften the stark root line.  Another colour solution is in my post: Warm Up the Pepper. Keep the Salt.
